I-65 Emergency Bridge Repairs

Louisville Paving Company successfully completed an emergency bridge repair project on I-65. The project involved the removal of three damaged deck sections, three beams, and eight concrete diaphragms. To restore the bridge’s integrity, they replaced these elements with three new beams, new deck pans, and epoxy rebar.

Afterward, the team poured back the three deck sections and diaphragms, and replaced three concrete beams ranging from 91 to 110 feet in length. This extensive repair also included 3,500 square feet of new deck pans, concrete deck, 2,700 rebar couplers, and a staggering 55,000 pounds of rebar. Notably, the project was executed on time and with an exemplary safety record, ensuring the continued safety and functionality of the bridge.
