This project was a Thin Lay project with base failure repairs in a congested area of a rural community. Narrow roadways made this project a challenge to complete. This roadway was constructed with a durable pavement safety edge at the optimum 30 degree. This increases the safety and durability of pavement as outlined by the FHWA.
This project is worthy of the quality in construction award due to the exceptional accuracy of quality control data and the logistical challenges that were accomplished with zero safety. Specials thanks to our Paving crews, Bluegrass Testing and Plant personnel as these results and awards would not be possible without their dedication to providing exceptional asphalt pavements for our communities.
