Jefferson County – Buechel Bypass Bridge Repairs over NS Railroad Tracks

Summary

Louisville Paving and Construction undertook a critical bridge rehabilitation project in Jefferson County. Tasked by both the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and the Norfolk Southern Railroad, our mission was to revitalize the vital bridge, ensuring seamless functionality despite the challenges posed by live traffic and active railroad tracks.

Over a span of six months, our dedicated team navigated the unique challenges of working next to and under live traffic, as well as the complexities of operating alongside live railroad tracks. We completed the project with the installation of 1,300 anodes, the removal of 130 cubic yards of concrete, the pouring of 150 cubic yards of new concrete, the replacement of 32 bearings, and the skillful patching of 2,500 square feet of concrete.

Our commitment to excellence and precision enabled us to deliver exceptional results, ensuring the seamless restoration and longevity of this crucial infrastructure within the Jefferson County community.
