For the $11.8 million project, Pace, a Louisville Paving and Construction subsidiary, developed an around 625-acre portion of the overall park system for 21st Century Parks. This included 4 major parks linked by Park Road: Beckley Creek Park, Pope Lick Park, Turkey Run Park, and Broad Run Park. Our Pace crews developed 100 miles of new trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, 19 miles of canoe trails, several sports fields, numerous facilities for family picnics and community events, as well as children's playgrounds, walking paths, and bark parks. We worked on transforming the area surrounding South Beckley Creek Park and Pope Lick Park, from Gilliland Road in the north up to the Tyler Schooling property near Deer Trace Estates in the south.
